Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D Major, BMV 1068 II. Air on G String - Bach
This song is one I can't fully put into words. Upon searching all the different performances of it online, I stumbled upon this one. I remember around this time last year, I had traveled to San Francisco by myself and gotten sick. I was randomly listening to Rooster's debut album as i was dying in bed and he has a song called Rented Starship. Immediately after i heard the first few notes of the intro, i kept wanting to find the classical song it reminded me of. It's just the opening note. I don't know how i found it, but i found Air on G string the next day and I listened to both of them multiple times on the way back home to LA. I was also listening to DIAMONDZR4EVER on repeat while i was taking public transporation and exploring the city. It was really fun. It was so weird lol . Anyways today I want to talk about Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D Major Air on G String by father of music, Johann Sebastian Bach. It's so good. I recently watched Hyouka and it tickled me how they kept repeating this song randomly throughout the series, for the Chitanda and Oreki scenes. After finishing the last episode (writing a review on this too on MyAnimeList soon!!) I was thinking about it and how unexpectedly romantic it truly was. Then I wondered back into why the creators wanted to use Air on G String so much. It got me thinking, was it just out of romantic vibes? Was it to portray spring? Does it signify some sort of opening, perhaps like an opening of a closed heart, start of a new beginning, or maybe it's a lot simpler like it's just a hopeful and tranquil background instrumental. Who knows. I'd like to think of it as [W.I.P. - still editing]
